Hey George,
You could always tell your wife you are conducting and monitoring a research project on the effects the short term and long term sex has on pain and AS. While the short term could last only a few months, it could take years to come to a conclusion on the long term effects. You may want to duck down when you are telling her about your research project though as there is no telling what kind of response she may have.
