Like the others have said, I don't know what's required by law to be disclosed in the medical exam, or to your prospective employer, but I would like to comment on you wanting to become a police officer.

As you know, this is a very physically demanding profession. Would you be able to chase someone on foot; wrestle someone (possibly someone bigger and stronger than you). stand, sit or drive for long hours at a time, or deal with someone kicking you in the leg or knee?

I don't want to discourage you, but maybe you need to look at this realistically. If what you're going through is something that is new to you, and it looks like it's just a short term thing that you will recover from, then I'd say wait for it to heal and go for it. However, if you are going to have continuing problems, you might want to think about it. You could not only be putting yourself at risk, but other officers and members of the public as well.
