Well this will be a weekend not to be forgotten. on Friday night our baby Sable took aturn for the worst. She had 2 heart attacksand then we rushed her off to our Vet. He looked her over and ran some tests and told us to keep an eye on her. So we went home and everything was going fine until bed time. She was sleeping in the doorway to our bedroom so we told her very calmly that it was bed time and she new it was time to get up and make room for me to enter the bedroom. She went about 10 feet and then she dropped again and started tobounce around like before. Then a few minutes later she was calm again but looking very scared and confused so we stayed with her until she was more aware of things again and we went to bed. Sable went with us into the bedroom but didn't just up onto the bed like she always did to sleep with us. So I spent all night watching her making sure she was OK. Then come morning I called the vet and told him that we were on our way in to see him. In that time the tests came back and showed that our little Baby Sable's Heart was swollen and that half of it was blocked and the good half was not working very well either so. He told me that we can bring her home but she would be gone within a week or 2 at the most so I felt it would be better to just put her down and that way she wouldn't suffer any more. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life. Joanne is taking it very hard and I am trying to hold things back so that Joanne doesn't see it so that she doesn't make herself sick over this.
I never noticed just how quiet a house can be without our little baby being in it. I miss her little claws scratching on the carpet when she is stretching while she sleeps and the clicking of her claws on the floor when she walks.
