Hi Laura,
I am one of the 'newbies' of KickAS, I was diagnosed just a month and a half ago. I am glad you will be on Humira, my Rheuma told me it is approved for AS too. So far I have 3 inj. , and even my condition is not so good at this time I could told you that I have been feeling some improvement. The first time I was so bad that I could no even sit. The last inj. (#3) even as bad as I have been feeling, I could told you at least a little improvement have been done; and that was very important for my Dr. Because he just asked: Please told me truth, I know you feel bad, but you feel less bad?
I hope you start feeling better faster than me, at least you have something that I don't have; some treatment before. In my case the difficult part is that I could not use NSAIDs because I am allergic to aspirin, so that make my improvement not that faster, but I will improve too, and I could told you it works.
Something not fun, In my case, since I am on the beginning and I have some issues with the disease (I don't accepted) and the injection (still have panic), I am very fortunate that my Dr. nurse, which is great, put me the Humira, and the truth you will feel a little bit more than Enbrel on the inj site, but this is to be better. At least it is every other week not each week which is like heaven.
Please keep in touch and let us know how everything goes. Zaida.
