yes, i have a pedometer. and at one point i walked a known mile with it on to calibrate it, that number long forgotten, but think 10,000 steps = ~ 5 miles about right.

one of the things i like about the summer festivals is that it keeps me moving, walking around, up on my feet, vs sitting which is just plain bad no matter how you look at it, for me at least.

that pedometer, given to everyone at work doing this "eat right, live right" x-week program. at first i thought a good idea, get people eating right and exercising. but many people in my department, gorging themselves on bags of dried fruit to "win". nothing like sugar induced diabetes. a good idea run amuck, and i don't need a program like that to eat well, my body lets me know how i'm doing, so never participated again, but got to keep the handy dandy pedometer, which i only use if doing a lot of walking about.
