Did 32 minutes on the elliptical this morning.

The kid that was killed by the bear was camping with his family. The bear ripped the tent open and dragged the kid out, and killed him. I am guessing he had food in the tent. The bear was killed a couple of days later.


that is sad orch. it can be scary camping where there are bears in the vicinity. when i was in high school, we used to backpack along the appalachian chain, through scouting.

we had to tie our food up in a tree away from camp. would cook along a stream, again, away from camp, making sure the wind was blowing in a direction that would send the food odors in the direction opposite camp. with a bunch of young girls who might think they could sneak some food into their tents overnight, it was imperative to make it clear how important it was to not even think of such a thing. happy to report we never had any run-ins with bears.
