I'm so freaked out by wildlife this year. We've had two bad maulings that were not food related within 50 miles of us, and a hiker was gored to death by a mountain goat just up the mountain from where I live this year. I'm sort of glad I'm not hiking this winter season. I think the economy must be irritating the wildlife as well as "civilization". Maybe a cranky vibe.
