I plan to run the Marine Corps Marathon at the end of October.

Since I have started training, my AS symptoms have become greatly reduced around running days, which is most of the week. I still feel it each Monday when I have a 2 day break from running, but overall I can't complain. My speed is improving - now at an 8:35 mile pace. I'm using the Higdon training program and progressing my milage gradually up to 20 just before race week. I am currently at 12 miles for my long run per week. I just finished a fall back week in the training program, just 7 miles for my long run but I ran it without a single break and finished in 1 hour. I am starting to think finishing the marathon under 4 hours will be doable. My original goal was just to be able to run it period.

I used to run regularly back before my AS started, when I gave it all up. I'm just happy to find that I can still do it, I was just afraid to try again.

This is a bucket list item for me and I figured I'll have no better opportunity than right now, before skeletal damage starts.
