Recovery time depends on your physical condition pre op.I had the uncemented titanium hip replacement done at the end of feb.Its al metal with a plastic cup that separated the metal.When it's time for e revision,they just take out the cup with a small incision and put in the new cup.Nothing near as complicated as the THR.
I went back to work 12 weeks post op and I'm a roofer.my limp was gone after about 4-5 months.
My docs told me the same thing as the rest.Wait as long as you can.But when my other side is ready I won't hesitate for the THR.I won't live that extra 3 years in pain.
My friend had both done and their was a 3 month gap in between surgerys.

my surgeon mentioned that to me......titanium, plastic cup and a ceramic ball...I think that's what he said, I was too busy not listening when he spoke to me
you ever get that? a Doc or surgeon or nurse or someone is busy explaining the facts to you and when you get outside/home you remember very little of the conversation, LOL
if it's important I always take my wife with me to gather and REMEMBER the facts.....all it takes is for a Doc to say the "wrong" thing and off goes my head to la la land
