About 2 weeks ago had my 5 year colonoscopy (it was actually 6 years, but whose counting

).
Anyway, back in 2010, prior to humira, my ileum had inflammation and small Crohn's-like ulcers. And now, after 3 years of taking humira, the colonoscopy report said that the ileum was "unremarkable" which means it looked good! and the color photos they gave me did look good! So, biologics do work..but I already knew that based on my symptoms

They did have to remove about 4 polyps throughout the colon, but they were all benign.
And I have a redundant loopy colon...which actually sounds funny to me

but apparently it means its longer than normal with more twists and turns in it than normal. I don't know if it indicates anything more than that, but if so, my GI doc will tell me when I see him.
Always, the report mentions "colitis" but never more than that, so not sure what that means. Maybe its the prep itself that does that to me. Those preps are very harsh! At least to my system.
But its over for the next 5 years.
On a sad note for me

, but a happy note for my GI doc

...he's retiring. He deserves it; I've never met such a hard worker doctor ever. Good, knowledgeable, lots of meetings to stay current, compassionate, thorough. I hope his replacement that he found is as good. He took a long time to find his replacement...just as thorough with that as with anything he does, so hoping the transition works out well for us.
