Hello Boxer,
I also have varying amounts of stiffness. The longer I am in bed the worse it is. It used to only occur when I slept but now it is constant. I'm getting old - 49.
Since 2.5 years ago, in my case I often have to get out of bed after three hours of sleep and do yoga to get circulation up, lymph moving, squeeze interstitial fluid in and out of organs, get oxygen in, toxins out. More recently I have been even showering for the heat. I have been considering purchasing a Solo Sauna.
Within months after my very first major AS symptom flare, which was 2.5 years ago, I was able to get rid of all stiffness, achieving total remission. That lasted for a few months. I would wake up after seven hours of sleep feeling refreshed, vital, and young. I was on NSD and supplements but I think there were two major factors that made me sleep and feel well:
- I ran 4.7 km to work two or three times a week.
- microbial levels in my body were relatively low (my pet theory).
How is your exercise regiment?
I feel that in the past 2.5 years that the biofilms in my body have exponentially grown and that I have not ran intensely for a year. Four to five times a week I tend to bicycle fast for an hour a day with short periods of small mountain climbing but it isn't enough.
My sleep is horrible now and no drug seems to help.
I am planning on trying EDTA along with other detox supplements to see if they help. And lastly I am considering visiting a clinic like "The Institute of Molecular Medicine" to lower chronic infections.
Since you are in Germany have you considered looking into specialists that concentrate on maintaining the Extracellular Matrix (ECM)? If you know anything about its benefits for please direct me to some English web sites if you know of some. Otherwise please try to explain how maintenance of the ECM could help morning stiffness.
I hope this helps.
