If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Joan,
often patients guts are irreparably damaged by NSAID usage, and it is probable that the klebsiella are able to establish colonies in the resulting lesions which cannot be dealt with by diet alone. In this case antibiotics can be effective and is a technique John (DragonSlayer) uses. Also, at one time, Prof Ebringer, who introduced the London AS diet, considered trying antibiotics to control the klebs, but because of the usual problems with antibiotic resistance had to abandon the idea. I suspect he wanted to try it but probably colleagues put the dampers on it.
With regard to the start of your theory, that the body always try to heal, well in a way that is precisely the problem with autoimmune disease like AS; our immune system mistakingly thinks it is attacking foreign antigen. One way of treating some autoimmune disorders may be to re-establish tolerance of self, but I suspect the way in which it works with AS precludes this.

Hi Joan Yeah..apparently we are all getting 'sick' all the time ... with viral cancers etc etc..just we don't notice it cos the bod is doing it's job. But our lifestyles etc hound the bod constantly, until it starts to crack and show symptoms as a warning or message to us to check and do something about it. It gets so awfully complicated in there... and when we unplug a blockage in one bit of the 'hose' through some therapy or other or drugs, we don't really know what effect that might be having down another end of another line of hose, so to speak. It all boils down to resonances and harmonies, I'm beginning to understand... so if we can entrain to a fundamental harmony at a basic level..and let the bod do the rest...? Has anyone ever tried a drumming circle or drum therapy?
It's about feeding appropriate information in whilst in altered state... or pretty low frequency brain wave, methinks..but again, another off the wall ramark!.. but something I feel intuitively drawn to..am currently trying to get info on such and piece together.
Re lauric acid in coconut oil...an MD has written on the healing power of CO..see the Weston Price Org site mentioned in other posts. (And notice how crazy monkeys go for coconuts when they find them dropped and open... hmmm the benefits of bananas and coconuts seem to be something we and our ape cousins have in common).
Thanks to Bilko for the info too... but I'm pretty convinced it's not a question of 'that's it' as far as gut flora goes in infancy. Obviously infancy is an ideal time from may perspectives..less adulterated human beings! But surely the 'machine' wouldn't have been designed not to adapt to the potential for pathogenic changes imparted through aging?
Cheers Sue

Thank you all for the replies. As I said I am new to Kickas and there is much here to learn. I find this thread very interesting albeit a bit confusing to me. It is obvious you folks have been reading, researching and exchanging ideas about these gut issues for some time. I am particularly intrigued by the notion of helping the intestinal wall heal so it can accept beneficial bacteria. Can you guys help drag me up the learning curve by pointing me to past posts on this subject? One more question for now...Is there any evidence that the kleb can get out of the gut and into the system?

Hi, Joan:
Several studies have identified 'Crohn's-like microlesions' at the terminal ileum (end of small intestine and vestibule of bowel) in over half of AS patients inspected (in one study). [I believe that if they found half-they also missed the rest--bowel inspections are not easy].
This actual bacterium has been found in widely separated tissue (Achille's tendon), and it causes up to 20% of all cases of pneumonia and 80% of all hospital-acquired infections (that are antibiotic-resistant).
The fact that greatly (statistically very significant) increased IgA, specific to this germ (IgA-Kp), is found in the blood of active AS patients implies that our immune system is reacting to their presence (in our lymph). The intestines are both highly vascularized and the lymph system is about as prone to being compromised by lesions as are capillaries.
So, we have a means and mechanism...then a motive to abstain from starches.
Best Regards, John

John, as a kind of aside... do you know whether the Kp (or any other for that matter) have ever been discovered in bone? Cheers Sue

Osteomyelitis; usually a bacterial infection of the bone.
