Hi there everyone! It's been forever since I have visited, but I have missed all the stories and experiences very much! I am having my second surgery in about 2 weeks, but now it's the other hip getting replaced. I am very excited to see if it will go as good as the first one did. Now it's off to vacation for one week, (St. Pete FL) to enjoy myself before I am put under. I really just wanted to tell someone about this, because my family is far away, and I don't have anyone to get excited with. My boyfriend is scared, but doesn't think I can tell. I know that it will be great! Thanks to Kickas for having this place that people can go to blow off steam and have people who understand listen and give feedback.

Stacy

That's great news Stacy!

I hope your 2nd replacement goes smoothly and proves to be just as good as your 1st one was, with even more pain relief and mobility. Hope you enjoy your vacation!

Please remember to pop back in and fill us in on how you're doing.

Take good care,

mig

Hi Stacy,

St. Pete is a nice place to visit. I have some friends living there. I hope you miss any hurricanes that might want to visit while your there.

Your first surgery sounds like it was very successful. I hope the second surgery goes even better than the first. At least this time you know what to expect before hand. With us knowing one of our fellow KAer's had some success with their hip it gives the rest of us hope for when it is our turn. So blow off all the steam you want.

Sometimes, us guys have problems showing how we feel about things, so maybe your boyfriend is trying not to show you he is scared so you won't be scared if that makes sense. Shows he loves you too.

Good luck and hurry back,
Brent

Hi Stacey. Good luck with the second surgery and have a great vacation! Isn't it sweet how the people who love us try to 'be strong' for us sometimes?

Hugs,

Hi Stacy

Glad to hear that the hip is working out good. that is always nice to hear. Good luck on the next one hope that goes as well.
I am a little lucky I can wait awhile before i have to have my second one done. This is fine since I don't have the pain in this one that I had in my first. But I do have to make a decision about my shoulder and since I don't know anyone that had a shoulder replaced it is making me a little hesitant.

Good luck again and enjoy your vacation

Take care

I am contmeplating the shoulder replacemtn thingee too. In my case however my AS afflicted me so young that the supporting muscle structure may not mean any increased range of motion so the surgery would only bring pain relief. Currently I don't think its worth it.

SHoulders are trickier and if you wait too long as I may have unwittingly done the benefit may be minimal.

Goodl luck either way.

Best wishes with the next surgery. I hope it is hugely successful. I hate the being put under thingge too but the hip replacements can be heaven sent.

I love West Coast Florida St-Pete and southward. Enjoy what sounds like a hugely earned vacation.

Hi steve

Nice to hear from you. I know that with a shoulder that if the shoulder gets to a certain point then it can no longer be done. I have an appoitment with the surgeon again the end of oct. I guess he will want to discuss this further at that time. It is the pain that is driving me crazy. I mean I can't lift my arm very high or anything but I can live with that. this is a harder decision to make than the hip was and everyone knows how hard that was. I think I just need someone to hit me over the head knock me out and then replace whatever they want and I won't know it until I wake up.

Good luck on making up your mind . Let me know what you decide.

Take care
