ames...

on the new medicare D plan...Enbrel is $330 deductible and a $ 60 co-pay per month...
that's the so called 'safety net' for like disabled folks with limited incomes trying to get by on social security...
plus a monthly fee of $ 22. for the insurance....AND that's the best plan available, some charge more.

i am just about to the combat stage with the enbrel folks.

hold onto your job.
keep shootin'

best

Congrats on making the "nurse card" work for you. Sometimes, when it's all you have, it's worth having

morning folks,
not sure if im just lucky and obviously the health systems are different between countries but I must have the best specialist going. He & his staff have done everything for me - sure I had to jump through the hoops required but all the paperwork, phone calls, the lot .. theyve done it all, and I can call him anytime (hes about a 2hr drive away). I know via my chemist that there are very few people in my area that are on Enbrel, in fact im the only person my chemist has on it, so they are showing a lot of interest as well - in fact its kinda nice. Sadly I need the Enbrel but at least people are interested and concerned enough to be involved. I guess this really is the lucky country - I would hate to have gone through what some of you seem to have just to see if youre eligible. I edited this because i read a few more posts and the costs are horrendous for you - im not sure what id do - Im on our public health system - if you meet the requirements ie severity you get it for next to nothing, I pay $4.50 a month - thats it!

Now the fun begins Ames .. lol .. along with the other great success stories I can only confirm the GOOD NEWS .. I still have niggles and aches and the hips 'burn' a little still but Im way better than i was so I fingers crossed for similar progress for you.

Aint mums the best

Patrick

I am so happy for you. Congratulations. And what would we do without a God who answers prayer and loving parents. Thanks for sharing. It is great to hear good news.

That's great!
Co-pays are going up, mine are up from a couple years ago, but I'm still paying only $25 per Enbrel shipment, hopefully that won't change if I change insurance...

I'm psyched you'll be getting some relief just in time!! Hang in there!!

Peace
Linc

hey Jan! I played patient advocate instead of victimized patient. iT helped that my dr office gave me the forbidden number but then since i KNEW they were runnin me round the pole repeatedly, I stuck it to them...helps if you a get a poor unsuspecting gal like I got! i don't think she was expecting that! I gave her the ol heave ho like i do some of the obnoxious docs i get on the phone at work! Gave a line of bull about how strange it was that us drs and nurses had to be ethical to the patients but the insurances apparently didn't have to, not to mention we had been waiting 2 weeks, sent 3 faxes, one of which should be hot off the press and I had been 2 weeks w/o meds and was really starting to have pain. waiting for their indescression was interfering with my ability to do my job. i told her everytime they took another week to look at that paperwork, not only did she affect me, but hundreds of others who are affected by what I do....or don't do, as the case may present itself. i read her the riot act and she very nicely came back and said, "oh I have a fax here with your name on it! I'll put a rush ion it and you can call back later today and check the status. I figured I'd give them 4 hours, they had left a message in 3...asking me where i wanted my first shipment to come to. anyway...truly I hate being mean to folks. I loose sleep over it but i decided that they weren't losing sleep over the fact that my hips were keeping me awake and i was slowing down at work. so i took a deep breath and a prayer and went for it! catcha later, (not a meanie!) Ames
