Hi, Could anyone possibly advise on how they experiement with starchy foods. I am looking to try rice but would you try it with foods and not worry about the food combining rules or would you eat it separately. If you do eat it separately the only problem I see is the lack of calories in the meal? Any thoughts/comments appreciated

Thanks
Phil

Choices abound - eat it with meat or not, with fat or not, with tofu or other protein or not.
I had one initial rule, that if i wanted to experience pain then i ate pain-inducing food at nite. If i was less masochistic i ate them for breakfast so they were mainly digested and metabolized by the efforts of the day. Trying a small serve first however you wish sounds good to me, but good to feel fairly robust about your ability to stand experimentation and have good fall-back foods or fasts to stop any adverse reaction.
Common sense i suppose.

Thanks I will give it a try, I have been doing the diet for 7 months now. Initially I reacted to squashes, avocado's, slightly to almonds. No reactions to those any more, in fact its been a few months without even a twitch. I did try buckwheat a few months back but that made me fatigued, no back flare though. I think that may be the high resistant starch in it that I found out about afterwards.
