Oh Lisa, I really feel for you. There is nothing worse than not sleeping. I can't believe you can function with 20 mg Flexerill during the day. I take 10 mg at night and sleep pretty well. I can't imagine taking it during the day. I've never heard of Halcion, can't help you there. I know the sleeping aids didn't help me either. Thankfully I am finally sleeping better. I so wish I had a magic pill for you.

Please see my recent posting in regards to Magnesium Citrate

Using Mangesium to relieve Pain, Stiffness, Fatigue - News Article

I have started to sleep a lot more soundly now that I supplement with magnesium citrate. Magnesium helps to relax muscles. Just think about "Milk of Magnesia" for instance.

Google the 2 words "Magnesium & Sleep" together in the same search, and read up.

Goolge results for "magnesium & sleep"

here is my nightly ritual and i do sleep pretty well most of the time:
1. take a hot bath or shower
2. take zanaflex (lasts 6 hours in the blood stream so even though it lowers the blood pressure and knocks me out, i can function the next day; flexeral made me feel like a marshmallow man zombie, but zanaflex is better for me)
3. lay on a blue squishy ice pack (usually under my SI, buttocks, right hip) if these are spasming / inflamed.
4. lay with pillows under my legs and with my legs bowlegged to "counterstrain" my buttucks muscles and hip tendon/ligaments (that helps with the spasming)
5. use a thin good quality feather pillow.
6. lay flat on my back, if i lay on either side, my SI is bothered.
7. take prilosec and mylanta to quiet my stomach.

No, this isn't cholately enough to have any caffiene in it I don't think. ) Sure some. It is just an evelope of the sugar free mix and it is barely chocolate and I get it just warm and it is relaxing. Sometimes I have a warm cup of decaf tea in the night also but not too often,

I have NO caffiene after 12:00 p.m. except for when I splurge on the not real good fake chocolate. )

I am wide awake now and SO-o tired so I'm off to the recliner.

Hope all is well with you.
