If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Still feeling great! However, last week had my first flare in months. It was just enough to remind me that the ol' AS is still there but not enough to get me down. Took an arcoxia and the next day I was good to go (still have my summer supply of meds just sitting in the cabinet collecting dust). I'm really surprised/happy the effects of the treatment have lasted this long! BTW, just got reservations and air tickets for my return trip to the Radium Palace. It's been an amazing year and I'm looking forward to another one! Radon Therapy-HC-it's still working! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=selFTx7kTJ4

Just a quick note: Returned to Jachymov to do the Radon Treatment in the beginning of January. This year's trip was so much better because my wife and I knew what to expect and were prepared with loads of good books, DVDs and portable DVD player. We had a really great time there! Anyway, last year's treatment lasted until mid-December--Had my first flare in a long time the week before Christmas (almost forgot I had AS until then). Went to the Radium Palace in Jachymov in the beginning of January for 21 days and by late Feb was feeling the curative effects. Now it's almost April and I am feeling 95.5% normal and looking forward to another pain-free 10 months! Holy crap, it's working! FYI: The doctor told me that October was the best month to come to the Radium Palace because that's when a whole group of European AS sufferers take over the complex and party it up while doing their Radon treatments...sounds like fun! Already planning next year's trip...hope the dollar gets stronger (thank God they don't use the Euro yet)... Ciao! Luigi

I'm still curious. Would they let someone like me continue with my NSD dietary restrictions if I went there? Other than massage, and the baths, what other treatments did they have you do? Are you able to choose which treatments you want to try? Great to hear you're doing so well!

Hi Trudi, I just made the video public. The pictures are from last year's trip. This year I took more pictures and video of the spa itself (less of me-which is a good thing)and the radon baths. I think (I hope) you can access those photos through this link:

Here's the link to last year's YouTube video:

If not, please let me know!

Hi Megan,
NSD would be hard to continue there. English is quite limited (so explaining your situation would take a lot of effort). I suppose you could write them ahead of time with your needs. Another option would be to rent a vacation apartment where you could do your own cooking (they do have some in town)and get treated as an "out-patient" , which is a possibility. The stores there seemed to be fairly well-stocked.
The other treatments: physiotherapy everyday, electrical current treatments, some kind of sound-wave treatment (for my hips), sonic-wave treatment (for my neck and ankles), they also have you do aqua aerobics (I always skipped those sessions--a little too depressing exercising with a bunch of 90 year-olds...) and lots of hiking. There is also a salt cave you can hang out in (something to do with negative ions). that's all I can remember now--they keep you busy those 3 weeks! If I think of anything else I did, I'll write again.

Hey Megan,
In NJ we have a BIG Radon problem. Costs thousands of dollars to rid your house of it before you can sell. Maybe I'll start a spa in my basement. You can come for free tho!
Take care, Jessie

thanks! Great pictures... wow!!!
so... what makes this therapy work in a spa but dangerous in our homes? Different substances?
This may sound strange.. but both times I've had nuclear bone scans, my pain went severely down for several months after... I always wondered it that was a short-term side effect of the injected radioactive stuff?

Congrats
I keep the mine in Montana in mind for this. Should the LDN fail me I am off to Boulder Montana for a similiar treatment.
Success stories are good to hear.

I believe the concentration of the radon and length of exposure are what make having it in your basement dangerous. Sort of like how eating one chocolate chip cookie everyday for 3 weeks is a lot different than eating one chocolate chip cookie every hour 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
