Alan,

Ah, you've caught me on that one! I certainly did fall into the trap of assuming the professor was a he and not a she! I usually avoid that through the use of the nonexistent personal pronoun "s/he." but was so worried about not getting thrown off my own train of thought that I slipped up in my response. Good catch!

Connie, glad that I fave you another way of looking at things! After reading mig's post, I think she is right and that even adding in "hear" doesn't negate my original idea. As you say, your doctor tends to use odd phrasing; from the sounds of things, I'm guessing he speaks--and/or writes--in a very formal manner. In our casual, slang-reliant culture, proper, formal English often sounds "weird"--probably not a ringing endorsement of current cultural standards, eh? Of course, the possibility that he simply IS a little odd and his language usage isn't formal at all--it's just odd like he is! Not that there is anything wrong with being odd--I've been called that more than once (more than a thousand) times myself!

Alan,

Nice to meet you too, as we had definitely posted in the same threads for far too long without a proper "hello, nice to meet you," hadn't we?

Although--and I'm sure you missed it, given the circumstances--back in that bit of unpleasantness a few weeks ago (what? I have to be more specific than that? pish-posh, you know which one . . . ) I "introduced" myself in a way by posting one of my standard, overly long posts in which I vehemently defended you for your original commentary in that thread. Well, that is true, although I do believe I also threw in a stray "While will was a bit direct in his comments . . . " somewhere in my post which I imagine makes things a bit less, well, vehement, doesn't it? (And I could not remember "Alan" at that point, hence the "will" in that previous comment.) Trust me though, I had your back on that one, and firmly.

Which I guess is a nice way of saying not only "nice to meet you too," but also "I'd be happy to share a foxhole with you anytime!". (Couldn't bring myself to use the two animated hugging smilies in the last line down there! lol)

Good morning to you Brad, yes indeed, we have posted alongside one another for too long and never said hello. I guess you are in America? I am sat here drinking tea (Yes I know-a grim concoction for westrners..lol) As i read your kind words here, especially in reference to the 'spat' of a few weeks ago, I am moved to wonder how I can apply lots of blame for all sorts of things to my good friend Mig, sadly today I can't think of or invent anything to get her into trouble with, but I will....lol...ooops sorry, yes I wander off.

I was grateful for your support in the previous matter, and did indeed read your well structured and wise words. For myself, well, unfortunately I become too emotional and write whilst my mind is couloured by emotion, this means that what I write is sincere ,but, also that it is sometimes not formulated as well as it could be. I think your summation of affairs was reasonable, well balanced and accurate. Thank you.

So Brad, welcome to my foxhole, have to say that Mig is here as well and being quite bossy, and she takes up far too much room for a girl,!! And yes, I repeat, a delight to meet with you Brad.

I too will refrain from tossing iconic hugs and kisses at you but how about..... )

on with the tea, yay for tea.

Hey Alan,

No time no "speak". I seem to remember that we exchanged a few messages many moons ago. Anyway, just have to point out that my neurologist's letter says, "I am interested to hear that Mrs Herdman is listed to see Professor Moots when he comes across in August and I would be very interested to hear his opinion". So, in Brad's defens(c)e, maybe that's why he assumed he was a he and not a she or even a s/he.

Hey Chris,

Nice to hear from you. Yes, we were "back home again in Indiana" for a couple of weeks. Wish we could have had a little KA reunion, but the trip was manic. We had a wedding to go to and several other places to visit. Two weeks is definitely not long enough, but I couldn't take off work for any longer than than. Hope you are well. Give my best to Carol.
