Hi Mick!

In Canada, our docs tend to recommend that we've finished the full course of an antibiotic and are clear of any signs or symptoms of infection for a few days, before re-starting a biologic. If you are feeling well by Monday, I'd show up for your appt and just remind them ahead of getting your Humira shot that you've been ill very recently and let them determine if you've sufficiently recovered. No doubt they will take your temperature and stuff since it is important to err on the safe side.

It is recommended that people on biologics or anyone with compromised immune systems do get vaccinated for the regular seasonal flu every year and the H1N1 flu virus this year. Is there a chance that your current illness is the H1N1 flu virus? If so, your immune system is learning to mount it's own defence right now. The only standard precaution is that we don't take the nasal mist form of vaccine (or any other vaccines that contain 'live' virus). Again, probably best to put these questions to your Rhuematologist.

I really hope you are feeling better soon!

Hi Mick, I am now on the mend from having 4 different infections in the last 4wks. Started with sinus then throat, then chest then bladder... Two lots of wrong antibiotics & a bad reaction to another lot..
I gave myself heaps of time to get over it all before I done another Humira injection, my doc said that's a golden rule. He also said it's up to me if I want to have the swine flu shot. I alway's get the normal flu shot & alway's still get the flu haha.
Hope you are feeling well again soon
Take care
Mez
