Hi! I saw this on another forum and thought it was interesting- it may have been posted here before. If it has, admin please feel free to delete this post.

I thought that one of several interesting points in this was the lack of bone samples for further research. Ofcourse I really do not think that donating bone would be a comfortable procedure- BUT if I were to have a surgery then I would certainly be willing to do it in conjunction. Has anyone heard of a call for AS bone samples- shudder ?

Thanks- Anna

awww the research I have been following to some extent. Does the inflammation of AS cause the fusion or are they separate processes. As the article points out there is evidence both ways with no real answers yet.

Many AS patients never really see much fusion, despite a lot of inflammation, as it is very slow to progress while others fuse solid in 10 years.

Interesting stuff to be sure.
