I missed that somehow. I love that show, but don't watch it much as my sweetie is a network tv snob...it's all derivative and he's bored with it.

Is there somewhere I can go to watch online?

I wouldn't mind being cured by him. Crusty. Cantankerous. Pill addicted. Genius. Yah. That would work! wink

Warm hugs,

Kat

It's just because of his genius that you wouldn't mind being doctored by Dr House huh Kat? whistle

Phooey, I'm missing the water cooler talk on my favorite show, because last night we instead watched "24" and then the second half of an HBO doc about autism (really good, I thought)

But yesterday I did happen to watch an earlier season episode on DVD when they suspected a woman had an auto-immune disease but they didn't know what kind. Then somebody said it didn't matter which one it was, because the treatment would be the same in any case: "steroids and more steroids"

That surprised me!

Will watch the new episode on Tivo soon, and meet you all by the water cooler soon!

Kat, try Hulu.com or you can buy the episode on iTunes

Oh dear. I didn't see this one, but would enjoy being entertained by it in the future.

I have to admit, have been suspicious of the Medical Consultants for the show for a while. Does anyone else think it's odd that House's residents are on the ward one minute, doing an invasive procedure the next, working in the lab after that and then breaking into people's homes to investigate their environmental exposures?

Funny story - when I was in med school in the early years, we used to measure how much we were learning by how much more we understood about the Medical Drama ER each week!

Incidentally, IMHO, the most realistic Medical sitcom / drama out there is Scrubs. Yes, I know it's satirical/comedy, but they touch on some pertinent issues fairly regularly.

Example: JD's first day at Sacred Heart, he walks into the hospital and is confronted by a nurse immediately...

Nurse: Good. Could you go drop an NG tube on the patient in 234, and call the attending if the lavage is positive?

J.D.'s Inner Dialouge: And four years of pre-med, four years of med school, and tons of unpaid loans have made me realize one thing...I don't know jack.

Been there, done that wink

Hey Kat - try www.hulu.com

I was really liking House. I've been streaming back episodes to try to get ideas about possible dx's for my hubby. But dang. If he's screwed up this bad . . .

Speaking of Hugh Laurie, here's one of my favorite skits, back when he was still one of Alan's neighbors, from "A Bit of Fry & Laurie"
