If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

That IS truly awesome, Michelle! That your FEMA trained dog is off to NZ to help with the recovery, wow! Ah, I wish he had one of those dog collar cameras like we do, a cheap little toy one, but it takes a picture like every minute or so and saves it to memory (most of the pictures are just blurry trees and stuff but every once in a while...) Beaux is part of one amazing heroic team!

Thanks Dow, Beaux is an amazing dog, he's got a nose on him like I've never seen, he'll do well, no doubt in my mind!!! that's his puppy picture below...having a camera strapped to the dogs while they're searching the collapsed buildings would give the rescuers an inside look in places they can't reach but the dogs can and I think those lights that you put on the roaming sheep could be beneficial too...I just pray that Beaux has a safe journey, that's my baby...but I'm really getting worried about seb, I'm thinking that communications may be down in some areas, perfhaps no internet?

So, so awful. Heard on the news while in my car and felt so horrified and sad. Prayers being sent New Zealand's way...

What a wonderful dog, Michelle. Why doesn't it surprise me that you have such a lovely dog and that you are willing to send him to New Zealand to help?

I must say he really is great at what he does, Wendy...I just feel so bad for the residents of Christchurch...

I agree! It's very sad to see the images and hear the stories.

92 have been confirmed dead but at the moment they predict a couple hundred more are also dead. They also predict about 50-60 international students have been buried under the rubbel where they were studying English. I didnt even know that Christchurch got earthquakes last year.. but they are struggling big time at the moment. Wellington (the city where I live) is supposed to be the most earthquake prone place in New Zealand. We sit inbetween two major tectonic plates (indo australian and the pacific I think). Pretty big wake up call for us though, especially since the last big earthquake in Wellington was 150 years ago. I hate to say it but we are due. Hope this doesnt put any of you off New Zealand, its an amazing country.
On a positive note, 300 dead in a city of 300,000 is pretty good. In a less developed nation it could have been so much worse.
Will update, Seb

That international student bit is what worries me most - I have two friends who are teachers in those schools. I'm just so hoping they weren't in that building. Wish we could somehow find out lists of who is missing, who is dead.

Seb, thank you for checking in. The pictures on the news are awful and it's good to have a voice on the ground, so to speak. Our thoughts are with everyone there.
Hugs,
Kat
