I am seeing a new doctor much closer than my current doctor. I am putting some information together for her. However, I can't remember the name of NSAID that I was put on when first diagnosed. I know it is an older medicine. I have seen it mentioned on here frequently enough, but my brain is all gummed up (must be the high pressure from the storms) and apparently isn't functioning properly. Your help would be appreciated. I have no prize to award, but at least you'll have the satisfaction of solving a problem for me. Thank you.

Kind Regards,
Jay

Alan is the winner! Thank you very much.

JanetK, thank you very much also for taking the time to respond to my question.

I was able to remember Diclofenac (sodium) which was given later on, but not the Indomethacin!

Kind Regards,
Jay

It was the second one, indomethacin. I never heard of the first. I lasted a very short time on it, perhaps that is why I couldn't recall the name. Thank you.

Isn't it amazing how different we all are in our reactions to meds?

I took Indomethacin orally and then in larger doses in suppository form for *years* back in the 80-90s with no perceivable side effects, and yet now it is thought of as one of the Big Bogey Men! Of course, having seen my MRI 2 years ago, I realsie that it was allowing the Monster to wreak silent havoc on my bones... frown

In recent years I have reacted far more to slow release and COX-2 NSAIDs, which are thought to be *safer*!

Of course now I realise they are all the Devil in Disguise... devil2
