Morning everyone,
Yesterday I went to the pain management specialist. I ended up in day surgery 2 hours later having L3/4, L4/5 L5/S1 injections and Dorsal nerve block. The injections contain cortisone and long-lasting anesthetic. I still have some pain this morning but it is dulled and last night in bed I almost felt peaceful!
My two questions are does arthritis cause facet joint pain and also if my S.I joint is not sore when the Dr prods it does that mean that it is not causing me problems?
I am sure my SI joint is giving me grief but the pain specialist left it as It was not tender to touch.
I see the pain guy in August again and hopefully will have MRI scans. i am pleased someone is interested in helping me have a better lifestyle.
Any advice, experience or opinion appreciated.
Thanks and best wishes,
Debra

Hi Debra
I can only go from my experience with facet joint injections. For me they were a short term solution. I didn't get much relief.
I know people that have had success and I sure hope that you are one of them.

I received them to try to control pain from the disc spaces, not necessarily directly related to arthritis.

Good Luck!!

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your kind reply. Well, day 2 today and my back has been pretty good although it is a little sore this evening and I notice it listing too.
Well, I thought the injections were worth a try as the pain specialist explained that he could use it as a diagnostic test to work out what is giving me the most grief.
How many times did you have the facet joint injections?
Kind Regards,
Debra
