unfortunately, they're closed today but I'll hit them up tomorrow.

FedEx says they can do it but not sure about the dry ice piece. They said a copy of the prescription needs to be included on the outside. Unfortunately, it's proving difficult to find a one stop shop to do the ice and shipping frown

such a complicated mess to get this, the TSA guy called said 16 syringes is too much for a person to carryon on my behalf, but I could have her check a bag with my meds.

Most large grocery stores in my area have dry ice along with their regular wet ice. It's a 2nd stop for whoever is shipping for you, but probably wouldn't be a long and involved stop.

But like someone above mentioned, wouldn't dry ice be too cold for the med? If they can overnight it, cold packs would be better. Most cold packs that come with our lab's reagents last 2 days, packed within styrofoam.

the doc said since I'm no longer a patient they can't write me a letter for my friend to bring the meds on my behalf. Looks like I'm going to half to go back and get it myself so as not to take any chances frown

Say, CoolTech, this might be none of my business, and I do sympathize with your plight as I'd be desperate for my Enbrel within a week of not having it, but why didn't you take it over to the UK when you travelled there in the first place?

I'm not criticizing or anything, just curious. It does sound as tho you'll have to go back on a whirlwind trip to get it yourself and I know that's going to be very expensive for you.

Hugs,

If the doctor has not seen you within the past 12 months, in some states, they can not legally write a prescription for you without seeing you. A letter to accompany the medication would be considered a prescription.

You may have the same difficulty carrying on 16 syringes without a current valid prescription. Is there a reason why you do not want the medication to go as checked baggage? Packed in a cooler with plenty of ice packs, it should be fine. Pharmaceutical companies transport it that way all the time.

I took a large part of my supply but thought I would have had a prescription by a doctor over here by now. I left the remainder at home for when I came on extended vacations since it doesn't expire for a few years.
