another:

my chiro tells me this is from facet joint pain. fortunately its short lived and only when my SI joint seems off kilter. he showed me on a skeletal model what may be happening.

when i lay down, even with knees over pillows to relieve lumbar, it feels like an anaconda is inside, squeezing my innards. its a scary feeling, but thankfully thus far settles out within a few minutes.

Hi Erika,
Great thread. What about the "am I walking on glass?" one or the "are my knickers to tight around my legs?" one lol
It's a shame we can all share these and find them common amongst us!
Cheers,
Deb

i know what makes my friends and colleagues "wince". when i tell them how the spasming muscles pull the shoulder blade back and the ribs out so that the bones rub against one another with nerves pressed in between. so while not exactly an analogy of how pain feels. its a description that gets the point across to doctors and non-doctors alike. and then i tell them its even more painful than it sounds. gets the point across.

Yes! definitely! Plus the "hot ballbearing in my elbow joint", and when my my pudendal nerve (or something around there) gets a bit pinched its like I'm sitting on a very very sharp spike. My hip bones (edge of pelvic bones) feel like I've been kicked by a coo.

How about when you have been feeling like a million bucks for too long. and its in the back of your mind......when you don't expect it....expect it,... its looming...waiting...festering like a boil within you...and getting angry.

"Carrot Leg" ok this description gets gross but it was the only way to describe this persistant ache i had for years. and occasionally it appears and has now moved to my arms.

- Carrot Leg - imagine you are grabbing carrots out of the bag that has been in the fridge for longer than you can remember and you see a carrot, looks normal appears from all angles to be fine and then you pick it up an its rotten and mush... its not really bone or muscle or tendons its the whole package, but the skin doesnt hurt.

Vice Chest - Feels like i someone put load strap (like flat bed truck drivers use to keep load secure) and have rachetted it tight so to move aches every part of my rib cage and spine -(oh how its "lovely" to be woken up by that one. ruined a vacation a few years ago and gets me now and again at home.
