Today is going to be a horrible day emotionally, and I don't know about you guys, but bad emotion days almost always lead to bad physical days. Today, I have to do what many of you have done and take my amazing dog to the vet for the last time. Torrie is 16 years old, and in the past few months, her health has really started to decline. This week, I came to the realization that the time had come, that she was in too much pain and was now suffering too much. Ever since my ex-wife Dee first found our wonderful companion 15 years ago at the Westland Humane Society, our lives have been brighter and our days happier. Every time I had to go into the hospital for surgery or for an illness, she was always so happy to see me when I came home. Once I was home, she would hover near me, clearly concerned and willing to do anything to make me feel better. Like every pet owner who is about to lose one of their own, I could go on and on writing about what a wonderful dog she has been, but I think I'll just end this by saying that I loved Torrie with all my heart that that my life will definitely change for the worse tomorrow. You've been a good girl, always, Torrie, and it's time for you to go run free again.

Hello Brad,

Sorry to read your sad news... Torrie sounds like she was a very special dog and that makes it harder. Cherish all the good memories.

Take care Brad!

So sorry to hear this, Brad. We had to do the same quite a few years ago for our lovely samoyed cross. Even thought we knew it was for the best, we couldn't help being so very sad.

Hugs to you today.

They truly are part of the family, but you are doing the right thing, instead of letting her suffer longer. I hope you do choose another companion, so many dogs waiting for good homes.

Sorry about this Brad - sad day indeed. Pets are so very special, their unbounded and uncritical loyalty, no matter what. Know I miss all my babes.

Good memories though - and still enjoy speaking about them and looking through photos. But each one is their own wee 'person' and irreplaceable in and of themselves, no matter how many we enjoy and are privileged to know and to own.

Many (((HUGS))) Brad - it is the last kind deed we can do for our wee friends.

Ahh Brad I am sooooo sorry! THAT makes me cry just reading it.

I have been lucky that the pets I have had have been around a long time...my childhood pet Poochie lived to be 17, our little Doxie Howie lived to be 10, and our little Chi (ok so hes not so little..lol) is just two but we would be lost without him...you havent seen him but for my friends on FB he gets posted alot!

I cant imagine what your going thru just the emotions of everything and Im so so sorry! I am sure you have a ton of pics but when our precious kitty Ryan got sick and we basically brought him home to die we took a ton of pics with him and Tori, him under the xmas tree ect...to remember.

Thoughts will be with you during this time!

Hugs!

Oh, I am so sorry. That is one of the hardest things we ever had to do. I am thinking of you.

Hugs.
