wow, been a long time since I've been here. I guess I was in denial and did'nt want to talk about what I was going through. Well in the last five years I've fused considerably. I'm 44yrs old now and in January of this year I took a fall and broke my spine. I had to have surgery to have titanium rods put in to support it and now I have VERY limited movement in it. I think the surgeon told me it was L1 to L3 but I'm not sure.
Anyways, I've become very depressed and even suicidal...living alone does'nt help. I'm hoping you will all accept me back and give me your support. I'm not sure if any long time members remember who I was but I used to be a bit of a wise [*bleep*] here always cracking jokes...anyways even though I'm still the same person I'm not the same person.

The site has changed considerably since the last time I was here. It's gonna take some getting used to. I also noticed that I can't say [*bleep*] or [*bleep*] without getting bleeped so I guess dirty jokes are out of the question.

Welcome back. There's a lot of new members since you were last on, including me. I look forward to hearing more from you about your experiences, good or bad. I reckon you can find some substitute words to use for your jokes, so keep them coming.

AS symptoms started 1991. Official dx in 2006 with HLA-B27+, fused SIJ, bone spurs in back, extreme rib/hip pain, and other family with SpA. Started Enbrel in 2006 with good results, but stopped in 2010 due to nerve damage (MS) from it. Getting good results with no-starch diet since 2011.

Thanks Greg. It's way different here now and it's gonna take some getting used to. I hope I'm even replying in the right place. I made some good friends here in the past and I hope to make some more. I also hope I can answer some questions people may have because I've been told that my case is one of the worst my specialist has ever seen.

Hi Stever - Welcome back. Yes. A lot of changes and, just see how many members are signed in to KA. You might remember me, have been here nigh on 8.5yrs...almost a teenager!

Sorry to hear about the surgery. Just been reading an abstract on spinal surgery - very complicated. Wretched you have such limited movement. KA'ers will give you all the support, but you know that - so welcome back -
hug

Living alone is such condition must be rough. Such fusion and breakage is so bad that it's beyond my experience. Have you been able to maintain an upright posture? Is you neck still mobile?

I'm not sure what to say except please stay in contact here. The last thing you need is to be isolated. How's your family and friends situation?

Stever!
So glad you are here. So freaking sorry for the [*bleep*] you've been through. Please excuse my Irish.
I think it is really wise of you to reach out for support. That isn't easy to do when you are depressed, so I'm very much inspired by you. Asking for help is at times hard for me. Like, All of the Times!
Please keep showing up, I will look for you.

Hello Stever,

I recall you posting in the past... but I also have been here for 10.5 years now.

Sorry to hear all that has transpired, hang in there. Not easy living with chronic condition always. Been there with the depression many years ago, seek help if you need it and post here as well.

I just turned 44, my wife turns 44 in December and my son turned 4 in Feb.... so a lot of 4's in the household come December.

Best to you, take one day at a time.

Tim
