Sue, I have a friend that has been complaining about constipation for 15 years. Last year she got skin cancer, on her face, unfortunately.

I had been looking into reishi and found information on the chaga mushroom. I printed out a list of it's benefits, and she decided to try it. She and her husband started taking it.

Just a couple of days after starting it, she told me that it resolved her constipation problem, and also that she was starting to feel like her old self.

I could go on about it, but for now I'll just say that the most comprehensive list about it is at www.eartherbs.com.

+1 for Turmeric

For probiotics try: Kefir, live sauerkraut, kombucha.. and look for probiotics with 12 or more strains (eg. SBO). We want more and varied competition among the gut flora to outcrowd pathogens.

do you have a recommendation for the probiotic pills?

if SBO is your recommendation, what is that?

I've been reading about resistant starch and it's benefits lately, and a friend told me about konjac, aka glucomannan.

One person said that she reversed her Sjogren's and lupus using a mix of a resistant starch and I think a probiotic, not sure what all she mixed in there.

I ordered some from nuts.com, but here's a link to a lot of information about it.

http://www.konjacfoods.com/index.html

It's good for regularity, insulin resistance, and as a prebiotic.

Here is an example of SBO probiotics. http://www.researchednutritionals.com/store/item.cfm?code=CRN121

Has anyone used them(SBO's in general) that would like to share their experience?

The author on inflammation.com recommends barely washing organic home grown veggies and fruit. I assume the objective is similar?

We might have to get rid of the expression "dirt cheap."
