Hi Becky, I am so sorry. I understand your pain today. I am in OK and I had my day yesterday. I hurt so bad and I could barely get myself a drink of water. I used my walking aides and my hubby a lot! The good news is that the weather has moved moved East of us (as you can attest to) and I don't hurt nearly as bad today. Still not a normal pain day but better. Hopefully you will be better tomorrow.

I am thinking of you. The only thing good about the freezing rain is that we needed the moisture so desperately.

Hugs.

UGH! People can really SUCK (well, mostly when they're a part of a bureaucracy). STAND UP TO THEM! Tell them you're worried about the long-term effects of steroid injections on your bones and your mood. ("if you give me one more steroid, I'm gonna Hulk out on you and you'll REGRET it!") lol. Have you looked into LDN? www.lowdosenaltrexone.org - it's totally worth researching, especially since you're doing SO much for your pain right now and getting little relief. That's where I was at when I tried it and I've never gone back. LDN is my miracle. Steroid shots have backfired for me in the past, and that is such an awful feeling - it's already inside you and you can't get rid of it.
Remember - the doctors work for YOU. You are paying their wage! Make them earn it.
hugs,
Bridget

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Hope things get better for you. I recently completed a Pain Management Program - amazing and very helpful. I understand better all types of pain, different medications, teach relaxation/meditation, stretching exercises tailored to your particular condition, tai chi, hydrotherapy, psychology of pain and relationships with family and friends, nutrition etc - useful ways of coping better and having more control of your pain. No judgements just a better understanding. Learn to live your life the best you can. I have better knowledge now and so grateful I got the chance to do it and meet the most wonderful team of medical professionals. I can still have bad days - it's just not as scary or stressful as before - I know what strategies to use to ease the pain in a better and healthier way. Hope this helps other fellow ASers out there.
