If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Happy Birthday!!!, I have been here since the very early days. I was here before it was kickas.org (can't remember the site address prior to kickas). I only went to one Vegas party, but feel bad I did not attend more. I wish we would do that again. I miss the people who have passed away, or just disappeared. I hope they disappeared because they are not having AS problems anymore. Thanks to kickas.org for all it has given us.

Happy birthday everyone. You can see our many iterations at the Internet Wayback Machine. Just click on the year on the scroll on top of the page and then click on the blue days when there was a screen taken. WayBack Machine

Was not at the first Vegas party, but made the 2nd and 3rd... got to meet several that are/were here.
Dragonslayer, Pete, Orch, Christina, DeanPaul, Sinta, Betty, Michelle in Maryland for a few names I recall.
Also Ebringer and Carol Sinclair were at one of the parties.
AS may win some battles, but I will win the war.

I occasionally check in here, doing a search for my name, to see if anyone needs anything. Or is looking for me. I'm like Batman that way. Good to be remembered, Lon and Tim. Thanks. And a very happy birthday to KA. I am still kicking AS. Recovering from a fractured distal fibula. 6 weeks (total) in a boot, 2.5 to go. then making up for lost time in the outdoors starting in November. I think of you all often, and wish you health and the very best. The photo below is me, rappelling Box Creek in Squamish, BC, just before the ankle snapped. August 31, 2013. D'oh! love, dp

Timo, ironically I broke the ankle crossing a stream.
I rappelled 8 drops through Box Creek. No problems. After the last rappel, I disconnected from the rope and turned to cross a shin deep portion of the creek. The water was aerated from the waterfall and full of tannin from the rains. Low visibility. A rock rolled when I weighted it, and I fell froward and to the right, snapping the bone. The waterfall was so loud I didn't hear it. I just thought I had rolled it. So, I walked out about 3k on it through the stream bed to the Squamish where a jet boat picked us up. I thought I would sit out a day and be back canyoning, but it was obvious after sleeping more would be needed than a compression sock and ice. So I drove home to Utah, ice pack velcro'd onto my pedal foot.
My rheumy says it could've happened to anyone. I wondered if AS bones are more brittle. He says no, not in this case.
My sports med friend who did the x-ray and set it (I didn't know it was broken until I got the scan) was surprised I walked out and drove home on it. I wonder if we're more pain tolerant than non AS'ers? Our systems are so wrung out, when we break a bone we think 'that's pain?'... Let me tell you about PAIN!
Hope you're well.
