If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

SOunds like you got some good feedback.
I was not on any pain med's or anti-infalmatories before any of my 4 hipe surgeries- THR or revisions. My gut couldn't really handle much for med's.
The result was no depression afterwards just less pain. Also the ciccumstances in my life each time were such that I was too busy to have much time to do anything but survive after each surgery.
First two were done amid law school and so no time for anything but rehab and work. Plus I was on ly 21 and 22 so I was too dumb to recognize anything.
Second two were within year of birth of the triplets so wife wouldn;t allow me any time or notion to notice anything but soiled diapers and work. And fortunately even at 40 I was too dumb to realize much other than next thing on 'to do ' list.
I hope your bout with depression doesn't persist. As for the THR you won't know for a year just how great it works. I was pleased with the result after the surgery but it took a whole year before the post surgery rehab I was doing got my strength to where I was in great shape as far as leg strentgh and endurance was concerned.

John, had the right hip done in 97, there was nothing left to attach the socket to. They flared the piece of bone sawed from the top of my leg out, and attached it to the pelvis with one screw in order to have a place to mount the socket. I had to go on crutches for almost 3 month while the graft healed, no weight bearing at all. I had no hip pain after the initial schocky pain from the surgery subsided. They tried to leave a morphine pump on me the first few days, but I hate the way it makes me feel and have a high pain tolerance anyway, so they removed it.
Came home on the morning of the 5th day with no steroids or pain meds, no depression during recovery. Hip is still working great. J.R.

After i had my hips replaced i was depressed, but then again i was depressed before i got them replaced. I had my hips replaced about 2 and a half years ago. Best decision i ever made. I only have mentionable pain in them when i do something stupid. Keep hanging on to the thought of how much better you'll feel once you have recovered completely. I think it was SO worth it. Take care of yourself and you'll do great.
I know the feeling of finding yourself stuck out on a ledge...
