If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Last week I had another bone scan. my previous one from the year before had 3 markers 2 of which where in the green "normal" area and my hips were yellow "osteopenia". No osteoporosis. A mere year later, the new scan has 4 markers as it looked at both hips instead of just one side and 2 in the spine like the previous one. All 4 markers are solidly in the yellow "osteopenia". Does anyone have any experience with such a quick change of bone density? I still am out of the osteoporosis area.

I also have Ostiopenia. I take two Calcium citrate pills at night and two Strontium citrate capsules in the morning. My NP says that is a good combination. I get a newsletter from a ostio group, you can take a look at http://www.osteopenia3.com .I hope this helps.

I take strontium citrate and vit d in the morning. Was taking calcium at night, but since I've been diagnosed with kidney stones (and having it worked up now), I'm holding off on calcium right now. Can't take bisphosphonates. Won't take an infusion drug till there are a few years of results on them.
AS and other spondy disorders cause loss of bone density. Hard to say what made it change so much in one year. Might be that the slide down was just starting at the time of your first test. Till you have 3 points of results, it's pretty hard to say how fast you are losing density. What does the doc say?
Strontium and Calcium are both OTC meds and can be started right now. Not sure if your doc would start you on a prescription right away or wait to see if you score lower in a year or two. Most insurances wait 2 yrs between bone density exams.

My mother was diagnosed with osteoporosis years ago. Went on a regime of Strontium, Calcitonin, 5,000IU of Vit. D a week and magnesium. She has reversed the osteoporosis and has now been told she no longer has it. She's back to osteopenia and maintaining there.
Warm hugs,
Kat
