Lin and I took Lola for a nice walk. Lin had to sit once and of course my back hurt, but we did it. It was out by a lake, we saw many birds and geese.
I worked 8 hours today. came home and took a nap and then we walked.

go team go. keep moving!!!

Had some food flares but at least it wasn't cmv or colitis flares that experiments have confirmed over the last month

After immunosuppressants exited my body the fusion started to spontaneously reverse itself(cmv and an opportunistic bug of some type). Then I did my Adalimumab (Humira). I have had 3 food flares in the last 5 days with a bunch of sessions while fasting of course(3 in a row and maybe 5 total) but feel much better now than being perfect(with the cmv and bugs not so active). I think I can achieve a major clinical response(in the spine) by next Wednesday. The muscle spasms and colitis seem to be lingering longer. The muscle spasms that eminate from just under the top of my ribs(front middle/diaghpham i think its called)to the back and sides are responding the least. The mtx were working on those till we decided to stop.

Well the spine is still decompressing with some nice lesions or spurs deep in there. Hope those heal up. But I feel better now that the septic AS is dying down a lil. So now hopefully I can focus on the original 1. Also the radicular pain is going down tremendously now. Almost gone. Also the tension headaches are getting better too. Whew this has been stressful. Thank god for my doctor! That's all I know.

Lol you guys should have saw me the other day. Stiff as a freaking board, a freaking board guys! From my neck to my a55 lol my friends looked so concerned for me but all I could do was be tough.

In the mean time, I'm not going to introduce any more orals(that I do need) until we can figure out why steroids flare my IBD which of course flares the AS.

I do still have pain though.

Also requiring much less dexamethasone for the lesions in my eyes and I think the Humira is to blame for that, indirectly if nothing else. I'm not sure if it has an effect on the bugs. I know it's not as good as the IL-17 one for the eyes and it may just be the topical steroid sparring agent but either way I can barely see the big scar now even after a flare and its great too for my pressure(inconsequental as it may be) cause I'm only needing the dexa like once a day.

Go team go.

Saturday I woke up late, but decided I would make a 4 mile run. I ended up only going 3 mile, and I walked about 1/2 mile of that. The heat was doing me in.

This morning I ran 3 miles. If anyone else uses Strava, we can share our workout information.

Tnate and Erica,

Thanks for the support.

Staff helped move the 300-600 lb equipment, but other than that it was my research students and I….that's ok, its done and done well….and everything is in a good spot…all is neat and clean and organized.

I may need help with my office move though. Especially if they wait til august when I tend to flare. Right now I'm doing well physically (after flaring a bit through the month of June), so now would be the time…I'm currently throwing papers and other things out in preparation for the move…..if I'm bad when its time to move, they'll have to move me…..

But once again, thanks to Humira! We finished the move late late thursday night (3:30 am), so recuperated Friday. But my feet would good to go on Saturaday…spent about 4-5 hours walking around an arts festival and my feet were pretty ok (Humira on Friday night).

No way could I have been on my feet so much this past week before humira.

Thought about putting down the potato chips and getting up off the couch this morning.

I figured it would be better to let this flare go ahead and let it do what it wants and chop up the loss in height to a learning experience. That and it's hard to walk around feeling like a leaning tower of Pisa. Much better to notice it less than fight for it.

Also I don't mind looking at my chest too much either.
