I know this is a question I should be asking my doctor, but given that I know more about LDN than they do I thought I'd check to see if anyone else has any information about whether its adviseable to take steroids at the same time as LDN. I'd be just looking at another short course - 20 mg prednisolone starting dose and reducing, for no more than 2 weeks total. Up till the time I started LDN I was having these short courses of pred about three or four times a year, as its currently my only antinflammatory treatment option.

I started LDN sept 2009. Started methylpred for flares some time after april 2011 (when I started seeing my current rheumy). So I had been on LDN long enough to know what it did for me; for me that was great improvement of my enthesitis.

When I did the 6 days of methylpred every 10-13 weeks, it never affected the LDN in a negative way. I also didn't see that LDN was causing any problems with the methylpred working. The days I was on methylpred were the best days, i felt nearly perfect.

For me, the LDN and methylpred were a fine combination.

The only reason I added in the Humira is because I was needing the methylpred too often, as little as every 10 weeks. and though normally 6 days would get me through, the late summer / early fall were dreadful except for the few days on the methylpred.

Hope this helps.

Hi - I take a low dose of Prednisone every day with my LDN and when I flare, I take methylprednisolone with no issues.

Is the Humira helping? I don't recall.

Love and warm hugs,

Thanks all. Looks like I'll be talking to my doctor about another burst of pred.
