If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I noticed quite a few of you eat a lot of fruit or dried fruit. Do any of you have problems with diabetes or insulin resistance? I would love to add it back in my diet for a little more variety but it makes my blood sugars go all wonky.

Guess I'm the only one battling insulin resistance/diabetes on the forum.

Hello, Teri:
Regret that is not the case. I have metabolic syndrome and my diabetes aspect has increased considerably since I stopped strict NSD. I have been able to tolerate most starches for previous couple of years, after doing many cycles of antibiotics along with diet. NSD is inherently difficult with type II diabetes, especially at the start of the dietary regimen; crossing over from carb-burner to protein/fat-burner. Some amino acids can help--glycine in particular along with unsweetened concord grape juice in moderation but to keep energy levels up. It can take up to a month to transition, and the fatigue can be depressing, but eventually the energy will return.
I have not been around much as getting ready for extended trip to Philippines. I have some materials not yet reviewed for battling diabetes will share in future if I get results (my father-in-law also has diabetes, so I am very interested in getting us both well while visiting him there).
HEALTH, John

Thanks John.
I have found it hard because some of the "staples" most people on the forum mention they eat make my blood sugar soar (raisins, grapes, etc.). I eat mostly meat, cheese and a few veggies. I would be nice to get a little more variety in my diet but I can't complain. This diet and forum have been a life saver for me and my family. I am still able to work 2 jobs (which I love) and pain has been kept at a minimum(when I stay NSD). A have an aunt with AS who's back, neck, and SI joints are completely fused, so when I found out I had the same disease my entire world fell apart. Thanks to all of you on this forum that help each one of us get through those hard times. This can be a scary disease if you are not informed.
I have learned many things from AS but the most important one is that happiness can be found in all things. Sometimes you just have to look a little harder to find it.

I actually do not eat raisins any longer... only fruit I eat a lot of is grapes when in season. Otherwise I am not consuming a lot of sugar other than that in my daily organic yogurt.
Walnuts are my staple snack.. now without the raisins.
