Does anyone know anything about Kenalog shots for AS? My sister had mentioned it but didn't know any particulars.

Kenalog is a corticosteroid. It is used in intramuscular (systemic) injections and direct joint injections in inflammatory disorders -as well as other uses. Occasional steroid injections are sometimes used to treat AS, but they should be used with great caution. The side effects from steroid use can be significant.

I have had lots of Kenalog shots through the years and they usually help me through the flares. I got one about 3 weeks ago and 2 days later my bp was out the roof. We have no idea if that was the cause or not.
I have taken so many steroids through the years that I have a healing problem. My sternum didn't heal after heart surgery and my spine didn't heal after surgery. I think that was mostly from years of oral steroids.
I have taken it for Lupus and RA more than AS but have had several injections in my back for AS.
