If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I have noticed that some of the drugs used in osteoporosis have been shown to help in sufferers of AS. Not only that but people with AS have a high risk of developing Osteoporosis. So perhaps there is a disease relationship? Drugs such as Pamidronate and Phosphocitrate (and other pyrophoaphates) are known to be helpful.. Angela says her pain has receded greatly ("morning stiffness has decreased to almost nothing"). She started a thread on the Osteoporosis drug Pamidronate here: https://www.kickas.org/cgi-bin/w3t/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=tips&Number=112414"Phosphocitrate (PC) is a pyrophosphate analog and is known to delay progression of ankylosis in MPA" ... "phospocitrate, or an analog, could be useful in humans to delay the progression of ankylosis of entheses in ankylosing spondylitis (A.S.)" http://www.hopkins-arthritis.som.jhmi.edu/edu/acr2001/spondyloarthropathy.htmlSo I believe it is worth looking into other osteoporosis treatments and advances, as these may have huge benefits for us too. Here is an interesting supplement. Vitamin K positively effects abnormal calcification, inflammation, and blood sugar levels: "Vitamin K has been approved for the treatment of osteoporosis in Japan since 1995. The vitamin has shown promise in other areas. Super K is a low-cost dietary supplement that contains a natural form of vitamin K1 and K2."... " Vitamin K prevents calcification of arteries and other soft tissue. Calcification of organs and other soft tissue is an adverse consequence of aging."... "Vitamin K prevents elevations in IL-6. Rising levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6) are an indication of aging. A chemical messenger for the immune system, IL-6 promotes inflammation. ".. "Vitamin K may play a role in the regulation of blood sugar. The pancreas, which makes insulin, has the second highest amount of vitamin K in the body." http://www.lef.org/newshop/items/item00604.html?source=HomeTop12VitaminK"So long and thanks for all the fish" - Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy

Osteoporosis is common in AS, but is that due to the disease process, or the drugs we use?? BMD = Bone Mineral Density. A low BMD indicates osteoporosis... here is the medical journal abstract: After investigating 30 people with Ankylosing Spondylitis, average age of 37 years, a group of researchers found the following: "lumbar spine showed osteopenia or osteoporosis in 50% of the patients, while 86% had osteopenia or osteoporosis in the total proximal femur. When compared with the normal population, the patients showed a significant BMD decrease in the lumbar spine and total proximal femur with sub-regions (Clin Rheumatol 1999;18(5):364-8) "http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=10524549&dopt=Abstract"So long and thanks for all the fish" - Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy

Hi Zark New researches on Phosphocitrate (PC): 1.Phosphocitrate Is Potentially a Disease-Modifying Drug for Noncrystal-Associated Osteoarthritis https://www.hindawi.com/journals/bmri/2013/326267/ Key sentences about AS: “We found that PC inhibited the proliferation of OA fibroblast-like synoviocytes in the absence of calcium crystals. †“PC inhibited transforming growth factor-β1-induced proliferation of progressive ankylosis fibroblasts †2.A Novel Strategy for the Preparation of Naturally Occurring Phosphocitrate and Its Partially Esterified Derivatives https://www.researchgate.net/publication...ied_Derivatives Key sentences about AS: "Furthermore, in vitro studies suggested that PC concentrations up to 1.5 mM (4.5 mg/mL) do not have any effect on normal cellular functions such as DNA and protein synthesis."

I believe Phosphocitrate (PC) is a Great drug to anti ossification, which is thought irreversible of AS and the #1 problem of AS.

There is additional scientific rationale for the exploration of bisphosphonates is AS. These drugs, as sythetic analogs of pyrophosphates, may interfere with the process of calcification of entheses that occurs in AS.
