If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

I would be careful with such diets. Honestly, give fermentation a go, I put a recipe in here for Kraut. Most supermarkets now sell Kefir milk too so you could also try that. To regain good gut health you should eat a varied diet, I try to get in at least 30 different plant based foods per week. I also eat way too much cheese, which I believe is not plant based haha. Hi Alex, thanks for sharing. I've tried fermented foods (made sauerkraut & kefir) before but not at the level you're describing. I was able to get total remission of my AS with the carnivore diet (100% meat) last year, but it fell apart if I cheated even a tiny bit, and was too monotonous and antisocial to sustain. It remains an emergency option for me if my AS ever gets too bad / untreatable later in life. It took 3 months of being strict with it for it to really give me any relief though, and I definitely didn't cram fermented foods every day for 3 months when I dabbled with them. I am not on Anti-TNF, however I might be able to get on them next year, and also the symptoms you describe in 2018 sound worse than mine - I still have periods with no pain / flare ups, however I can't exercise barely at all without triggering a flare up. You've inspired me to start a load of krauts & veg, kefir and sourdough going, to give them a massive try in a month or two. Please let us know how it goes if you stop the anti-tnf Cheers, Mark

Well, it turns out things are now going to get very interesting...
I've had scan results back from an MRI and I have inflammation of the spinal cord, most likely brought on by the Simponi Anti-TNF injections. But if it's not that then I may be faced with an MS type disease. Still waiting for diagnosis from the doctors.
The doctor has ordered me to stop taking anti-TNF. So my diet is now going to be put through the real test. Fingers crossed I've done enough healing in my gut, through varied diet and fermented foods, to stop AS from re-occurring.
Only time will tell, I will report back on my findings.

Spiderpidge - oh wow, sorry to hear that. How are things since your last post?
AS symptoms on and off since 2003. Mostly mild symptoms. No diagnosis. HLA B27 negative

Not too good unfortunately.
I can't take Anti-TNF due to attack on central nervous system.
So the plan is, keep the diet the same as before. Do physio, Chinese herbs and acupuncture.
But COVID also really screwed things up. I was doing really well on the diet, physio, herbs and acupuncture until I took the AstraZeneca vaccine... The vaccine set me off in a mega flare and apparently this is not uncommon for people with autoimmune, has anyone else experienced this?

Hi there,
I'm so sorry to hear about the MS-like symptoms, I hope this is only a temporary set back. You asked about the covid vaccine experience, I had my third booster shot of Pfizer two days ago and 24 hours after I was in terrible pain, rigors, chills, joint pains everywhere.. and I'm still feeling rotten today despite meds. But a big confounder for me is that I'm stopping all my biologics so it could just be the underlying disease flaring, however I can confirm, post jab my symptoms were horrendous. Still, I'm glad I got the booster. Take good care!
