Good Evening smile smile smile

These are my results from my latest doctor consultation:

Review of the MRI scan done in 2021 was compared to X-rays done in April of this year. She has chronic disc disease at L5-S1 with mild facet arthrosis. She has mild disc disease higher up and there are very small anterior spurs at multiple levels of the vertebrae, no calcification of the annulus. SI joints do show mild blurring at the upper ends, equal on both sides. Positive for HLA-B27 gene.

He said Arthritis when I asked what does that mean in English?

Prescribed Diclofenac Sodium, 75 mg
Physiotherapy
Methylprednisolone Acetate shots

The Diclofenac Sodium just makes me sweat so much my hair is completely soaked. I do not understand why I have to take it if it makes me sweat so much. What is the purpose of taking it?

So, in English what do you think I have been diagnosed with??

Thank you!
Magician Angela

That's a tad ambiguous, but gee, blurring at the SI and bone spurs sure sounds like AS, to me, but I'm not a doctor. I hope this guy helps, Magic. You so deserve it.

Light and love,

My regular doctor freaked out when he looked at the x-rays. Immediately prescribed powerful pain killers. Meanwhile other than occasionally aching I am not in much pain yet.

It's amazing what we can tolerate if we live with it long enough. Doctors really don't seem to get that. I hope all this leads to a positive move forward for you.

Hi, Angie:

I don't understand what You are asking. If Your doctor is playing games with syntax, (s)he is creating a problem for You: To be honest, I never believed that You had anything else but AS, but I am not a doctor. You have been with us for a long time, and every dumb idea about this disease has been discussed--myriad WRONG DIAGNOSES, "women don't get AS," "diet has nothing to do with arthritis," "not everyone with B27 gets AS," "wear-and-tear.."

The problem with BENIGN NEGLECT is that it is NOT BENIGN: The damage is permanent and cannot be reversed. The only thing that we can be certain of is that the DOCTORS CANNOT TELL US HOW TO AVOID THIS DAMAGE, even if they suspect AS early enough. That is the raison de'etre for KA. Carol Sinclair never had any damage even after many decades; i've lived many decades with the damage CAUSED by Voltaren and caused by listening to my doctors! They are human, and are no better than their medical guilds dictate; I paid my money and took my chances!

The bone spurs could become bridging syndesmophytes; it depends upon many factors and it is a slow, painful process. The PAIN is how our bodies communicate with us that something is wrong. But You do have all the very obvious indicators of AS--and NO DOCTOR (except Theodoric of York) could ever have missed them!

HEALTH,
John
