I know I'll evenually need to turn in my drivers license, but will I have to turn in my KickAS userid, too?

Also, it would be wonderful if someone could recommend a rheumy as good as the one I had in Maryland.... This would be in the Houston, TX area.

Edited to add the city, since Texas is huge.

Hi Paul! Boy! I wish I could help you. I lived in Houston but it was nearly twenty years ago. I did find the absolute best doctors when we lived there. They are probably all retired now but I'll bet with a little luck and some digging you could find some excellent doctors that are in the area. I loved Houston by the way - after I got used to the bugs... Love - Helen

HI Paul, I can only help with Dallas.

You may think about going to a doc that is part of a large practice near the medical school. Many times, they have access to the latest studies and trials.

My doc is at St Paul in Dallas which is part of the UT Southwestern School of Medicine. Also, their office is across the hall from Radiant Research and in fact their back hallways are connected via a door. These docs in this medical group do ALL of the research through Radiant.
......so my suggestion, call the research centers in Houston (they are in the phone book under research) and ask them if the Rhemuy's do studies at location....
....or you could call some of the big Rhemuy practice and ask the receptionist which research center the docs use.

Last suggestion......
contact Laura from Texas (she signed our guestbook)
She is a genetic researcher working solely with doctors who study AS. Her note says that she talks daily with persons with AS who have volunteered to be a part of our research.

My user ID has yet to be revoked and I have gone way past being a tumble weed here. I am in GA now due to the death of my Dad, but I still yearn for my apt in MI.

Hope you find a great doc as well as much less pain in TX. The heat and humidity there would blow me away, but it works for some, so I hear.

Paul
If I were you, would check out M.D. Anderson hospital..Their specialty is
cancer, but also have some of the best doctors in other fields of medicine..

Have been to Houston many times,my sister lived in one of the northern
suburbs for several years(Spring Tx)..Think a person would be hard
pressed to find a city with worse rush hour traffic than Houston..

At least you won't have to worry about shoveling snow...

Welcome to Texas!!!!

Paul, you'll never have to turn it in. If you want, you can get a custom one. Personally, I like:

At least I live close to work, and don't have to go out in the rush-hour traffic every day.

> At least you won't have to worry about shoveling snow...

Right. I'm told snow happens once a decade or so, and is especially rare in the southern suburbs.
