YEAH!!!

He is on stage 3 of the diet. He can have clear fluids, lactose free milk, starches and now protien!

If his body accepts the protiens then we will be homeward bound tomorrow....He is drinking a minimum of 3 boost drinks a day and is toleratering that, so.......

He will have a strict diet to follow for a while, and we need to keep coming back for the Remicade, but that is okay. We can handle that!

The heart thing....well the doctors drive me batty with that, so his PC is arranging a second opinion at a hospital closer to home...A second opinion is always a good idea any way.

Tim....Get the spare room ready. I have it in writing that you want us to visit. Better hope we dont like it too much.....we may never leave!

Thanks to all of you for your support. This is a wonderful family I stumbled upon way back when.......

Hugs
Lori

Hi Lori,
Thanks for sharing such great news! I sure hope that he is able to handle protiens and can go home tomorrow, that would be great! I think it is a good thing to get a second opinion for the heart, definitely a good idea. I hope this time tomorrow you both are headed home.
Take care,
Cara

Hi Lori,

Wow, this is great news. I'll bet Eric is just as excited as you are to be home. I think this has been just as tough on you as Eric. You both deserve some much needed rest. Second opinion? You bet, second opinions should be mandatory.

I'm happy for both of you. Thanks for keeping us up to date on Eric's progress.

Lori,
I sure hope Eric gets to come home tomorrow! Poor kid has got to be getting tired of just laying around in the hospital! I know its probably insignificant, but I was wondering how he'll get back into the swing of things in school when he's finally able to go back. It would seem he'd be quite a bit behind. I just hope he can catch back up.
Best of luck and God's blessings to you both.

Oh Lori, I'm so happy to hear that!! Staying in the hospital isn't fun but Eric has sounded like he really digs those nurses. Typical BOY! LOL

Keep us posted.

Wendy

Lori I'm so glad to hear that Eric will be going home soon. It's good he is getting a better diet again. Has he lost much weight? He is such a slim boy already that I imagine he doesnt have that much to lose!

Take care and enjoy those last steps out the hospital door.......

I don't know the laws and stuff by where you live, but I'm pretty sure in NY if you spend more than 5 days in hospital and have to endure an upper GI series you get to take your favorite 2 nurses home for two days.

Check with the hospital and see if they have that rule!!! Well OK maybe I made it up but if the really cute nurses weren't too bright maybe they'd believe it was a law. Always worth a try.

Hope you are home soon and eating whatever you like the best.

Hey there !
hope that kiddo goes home soon!
talked to him the other day but he was quite busy watching Blair witch project.
Told him he'd love our video collection. The girls and Art are avid horror movie collectors. I've had enough to last a lifetime.
I told him to watch "ghostship"!
Hope things settle down soon and you and Eric get some much needed rest and healing.

lots of luv

GREAT NEWS
I love great news. Keep it coming. I have told you this before, but I'll say it again, Eric is a great inspiraration to me, the way he handles his problems. He has so much to show 'us grown ups' on how to behave, you must be very proud of him Lori.

Steve
I seem to remember reading that somewhere, but I thought that It was the patients 2 best friends who could take the nurses home. Eric, you have 2 new best friends , by the way.

Is Eric home yet??!!! Oh, I do hope so!

Hang in there Buddy, with all of us pulling for you, they don't dare keep you in there (not to mention your mom might just clock someone if they try). And don't fall for Lord Paul's version of the Steve rule - the two nurses are all yours!!

Hi Kat!

I talked to Lori a couple of hours ago and yes it is true, they will be homeward bound today!
Last night Lori mentioned checking out the Elvis impersonator at 2pm today in playroom before they went home. I'm not sure if they still plan on doing that as Lori is pretty tired. She can't wait to go home and take a nice long nap in her own bed

peace & love
Kathy

Hey Kath, thanks for the update. Hopefully, Lori is now snoozing peacefully. And Eric is up to his usual mischief.

Hugs,

Kat
