Beloved,
Steve really disparaged my name in another poast then i realized I did have another accident. It was a winter blizzard here in Gillette. I had taken the church to plow snow. I am probably the worst snow plower if there ever more shall be. I love to spin the tires, I misjudge sidwalks, I go too fast and frankly I love to scare myself.
I was backing the snowplow off the F150 -OffRoad and the ramps slide on the ice. Since I was in the back of the truck I was only doing about 30 in reverse. The ramps slid. I felt the back wheels drop. with my 230# of solid German muscle ( and a thin veneer of fat ) the 4 wheeler sank quick, cripes, I fell off the back of the 4-wheeler and of course I was able to keep from breaking any thing on the 4-wheeler because it fell on me! the city street crew will fix the whole in the street next spring, I am to make sure no small dogs or kids fall into it.
U ah know how you would like to get a breath, but the stinking wind is not in your lungs.... I am a compact round little guy. I was sore, but I had also scooped lots of snot, er I mean snow.
Sreve, this is the very last driving story You will hear from me. Unless of course, you start showing more love.
The surgery in my left wrist has helped and I am getting some feeling back in my left hand! Yiuppi Ki A.

Ah, I love it here. I love all of you. I miss you all w\hen all I can do is rad a few poosts.
I love this place!
Brr rabi..I mean

Lon, HONEY,
doh
I do worry about you! You're as accident-prone as my high school science teacher, who is a fabulous guy, smart as all heck, and someday he'll discover a comet, they'll name it after him, and then it'll hit him. He was once hit by lightning and fell out of his kids' treehouse in one week. THAT'S who you remind me of . . . super smart, super kind, and just . . . *sigh*

Lon? What were you doing? You do not need to be out in all that snow and ice. You are not in shape for that sort of stuff. I am just happy that you didn't break anything.

Please take better care of yourself.

Bridge,
As I thought aobut how to respond, I thougth of you and the horses. I was riding a 3 year old rodeo horse down in North Platte country. the owner said I was riding stiff in the saddle and that horse took off and was running faster than i have ever ridden, coming ot this high fence. I thought I was going to meet my maker. the horse stopped like in a roping ocntest. I went up be his ears. But the horse was strong enough to hold me there till I slid eback on the saddle and then to the ground....
I hope you are feeling better?

Dear Donna,
Shape = round is a shape....
underneath this veneer is a some muscle, used ot be.....
I love being outside. I got to move or I get more and more pain. Todau, I have gone out 5 times, but don't stay too long.
-5* 20 mph wind and 3 inches of snow coming.

nothing broke....
thanks

Ok lon first thing they told me when i bought my 4 wheeler always ALWAYS tie the ramps down so they don't slide off when backing it up. You probably know that and my guess is you will from here on out glad you didn't get hurt to bad. take it easy
Posted By: barngoddess84 Re: Little 4 wheeler accident - 01/01/11 01:39 AM
Ooooo cool story Lon! A similar situation happened to my dad when he was a teenager trying to impress a girl, except he went up on the horse's neck and then the horse decided to take the jump after all . . . Dad ended up on the saddle horn you-know-where . . . right in front of the pretty girl. He thought he'd be sterile, but 6 of us later . . . lol!

We had two sons with wives and five grand children home. Held a Christmas party for My family. Had 25 guests on Christmas Eve. This is the 24th year we have done that. Now my Sisters tell me they are going to show up even if I chose not to have the party. It has become somewhat of a tradition. I am pretty much back to my old bent self. I Was up at 4am shoveling snow from driveway, could not sleep. Finished the sidewalks mid moring with the snow blower. -10F now with wind chills down to -30F. How is you New Years celebration going. Have you had family in this year. Have a very Happy New Year!

Smed,
Our son came for 4 hours on Christmas day.
We ahd our evening Service at church.
Lin is learning a new computer. She did talk to all the girls and as many grandkids as she could. they were a bit distracted with the gifts and all.
I pray you have a healthier new year.

4 am, sounds like my wife. It is not as windy today, but yesterday was very cold with the constant north wind.

Bradford,
I have a lot of snow to scoop today.
But I am taking my time. The stinking pain is ocming back after the injections..
HAVE you seen the elk on I 5 lately?
I saw a herd that came out of the Black Hills a few weeks ago!

Oh my gosh Lon..I am sorry to BLAH, HA, HA, HA at your misfortune when it comes to Grace but I know you have it in so many others ways..lol

On my downest (is that a word) days I can read one of your stories and laugh so hard I have to go looking for the DEPENDS (please dont let Kev see this part..lol

Between the rolling truck, the burgular in the house, the camping incident (which I say still looks pretty darn sexy to Lin) you keep this poor old depressed, sick girl in stiches.

You know I only wish the best for you and you know if I had the chance to win the lottery or come spend some time with you and Lin...well.......I would take the money and then come spend time with you..lol

Hugs to you and the family!

Good grief, Lonnie, what are we going to do with you???!!!

There are so many smart aleck remarks in my head I can't focus on just one. So, I'll just say I'm very glad you're all right.

Love and hugs, my friend. Thank goodness for deep snow ... with no bicycles or beer trucks in sight!!

I'm am glad to hear that the only injury was your pride. How did you make a hole? Lisa,
If ya do win the Lottery, I will expect to see you here in Gillette. I share my stories, because we need to laugh. I may embelish them a bit, they are real events. The Lord seems to keep me healthy enough to get into some perdicuments....
Lin keeps saying she does not feel sorry for me... when I get in these messes. Soem of them I do not ell her aobut... until much later.
I look forward to along and wonderful friendship with you and all our family here. It is special isn't it!

Occasionally I will strut my stuff for Lin,, but ya know we have slowed down just a wee bit since college.....

Kat,
YOu have a huge need ot express those naughty but nice remarks, my lady. You best be getting them out before ya burst!!! Beer Trucks... seems like I remember something..
So what is your current "stage" assignment?
I am acting like a minister in a small church in a small town in rurial Wyoming. It is a hoot!
Posted By: Lon Re: Little 4 wheeler accident - 01/03/11 03:47 PM
Cindy,
Right you are my friend.
I fell back crushed the road, the Honda came on my and then the fornt wheels went back on the truck, so you see I was protected. I am surprised you did not feel the shock?? With my muscular body and that veneer of fat and the 425# Honda it must have shook the earth quite badly???
I was joking about the whole..
But hey, you need to bring your toys out next summer and stay a while.
Thanks Cindy, agape.

Wyoming may be hazardous to your health!
Posted By: stevec Re: Little 4 wheeler accident - 01/03/11 08:44 PM
I clearly did not dis-asparagus you in any way. I didn't even hurl a tomato your way or charge at you with fresh fruit or a pinted stick.

I simply shared with Holly some of the things that always, always, always bring me joy here at kickAS.

In the early days the discussions (mainly by BBJ and some of the Texas contingent)about roadkill pizza recipes were sure to make me laugh.

the notion you atop (not for long) any motorized vehicle or unmotorized vehicle brings me an eqaul amount of glee.

Please please do not withhold these stories.

You are a greater daredevil (even if it is unintentional ) than any Evel Knievel. I bet he would not ever have tried to get on a 4 wheeler and ride it up, into the flatbed of any pickup and then into the cab. Give ole Evel the shot at propelling himself downhill at breakneck speeds and over or through an entire beer trcuck just to whet his whistle and he'd take a pass.

You are courageous and offer me healing of the highest degree.

I do however worry about when you go hunting. I sppose you must notify the state and get your own dedicated 10,000 or so acres away from all other hunters.... beer trucks, 18 wheelers, bill boards......

I love this place too

SteveC - pleeeeese add horses to the list...

And, or course, we come back to Tom Lehrer's song..."Went and shot the maximum the game laws would allow, two game wardens, seven hunters and a pure bred Guernsey cow..." Oy Vez!!

Steve,
I is with a heavy heart i gaze up on this post of pestering from a man who is at the bar all day. You know, back when the road kill receipies were being flung around, I was worried about the sesibility of this site.
I do miss ole BJ. Cept he was a bit cantankerous and kind stuck to those receipies.....
I think I ahve been a bit foolish in my day, but now that the old body is this big, I seem to fall faster and harder!!! Nice to see you again! But as I ponder this relationship, I think I wud like to walk a round of golf, just to kind of play gotcha. Each player gets three gotchas.....

Your old Bude

John,
I think the hazard, seems to be where ever I am at the time. But ya know I have survived and the future looks good.
How have you been?
I still have snow to scoop, wanna see fi the handle fits?

Molly,
for crying out loud, he does not need any help!
good grief girl.
If I was to get a horse, it would be a mule to hunt elk with.
Posted By: MollyC1i Re: Little 4 wheeler accident - 01/04/11 12:49 AM
Ok - equids, that should cover ALL our four footed ones of equine varieties...(think I got the nomenclature right!) Can't have those being ridden out, or loose, IF y're gonna be loose out there!!

(The song 'did' say seven hunters...!!)

(Ducking...help, he's running me down!) <LOL>

Steve,
My former friend...
I will have you know that I have injured only a few hundred of my passengers through the years. Besides kids and immature men, enjoy the thrill of nearly being killed. Come on, those gold carts are impossible to roll, crsh put in the drink or other wise hurt anyone. Besides I wear my helumt most of the itme, even when I am preaching...

Haven't a clue 'what' it is ouside - apart from pitch back night that is and V. v. coooooold! Was 'qute' warm yesterday, but today, overcast,, damp, heck, even the chucks were picking their feet up out of the ground, like, gerrrr'yyyeeerr.

Take care my friend, although your stories are a real *hoot. Love the 'helumpt' on head whilst preaching - that to stop falling plaster in case summat happens? Knowing your propensity for 'things happenin' then 'be prepared' as they say! alien whistle
