I broke down and had a couple slices of pizza. I live in philly and we have the best pie so its gonna happen from time to time. It was awesome. Does anyone know of anything I can do as a preemptive strike against the klebs? If not, I'm gonna be hurtin' tomorrow. Look forward to your feedback.

Hey, Garcia:

Carol takes a physick--basically Epsom salts in warm water--about two tablespoonfuls about does the trick. I don't know how to fight pizza--the cravings yes, but the pizza itself...I took antibiotics before and after two slices (they opened a Shakey's in my wife's hometown--The Philippines, so I HAD to...), but still had to fast a week to make up for the excursion into starchville. I suppose the best way is like Carol does--just get rid of the stuff ASAP.

Good luck to You, and I hope AS does not exact too much of a toll,

John

Sometimes cheating is the best thing... the pain reinforces how much the diet works. Epsom Salts help flush the system from experience, but do not get in habit of cheating and taking Epsom Salts to cover... continual laxative use is not good for the system.

Thanks for the tips. Oddly, I don't feel that bad today. A little stiff but I don't think it warrants even an otc nsaid. I guess the NSD is really working. I don't think I'll indulge too often because I feel too good.

A little cheating is good for the soul and helps one to find the limits and feel the warning signs...
Unfortunately for me, pizza is the quickest way for me to get iritis so i avoid it - mainly a gluten reaction it seems.
