Trudi, I always found that the worst starches were the 'hidden starches' in packaged foods. Anything from a package or a can from the grocery store invariably had some kind of starch in it!

I no longer buy many packaged items at all, not even for the family. Everything is made from a natural food, except pasta, which I don't eat anyway! When I make dinners for the family I eat pretty much what they eat except I do not eat their starch, potatoes, rice, etc. and I add many more veggies to my plate. It is quite simple after you get used to it. Karen has some great ideas! I'm gonna have to start freezing myself meals for when my guys have spaghetti and pizza!

I must note here, that I am not always strictly NSD anymore. After over 1 year strict NSD and with the addition of coconut oil, hemp seeds, and collodial silver, I have managed to get to a pain free state that always me to eat 'almost' every kind of thing I want. However, my dietary goal right now is to be about 75% NSD and 100% gluten free. With the occasional piece of birthday cake and turkey stuffing!!

Cheers,
Rita
