Hi all you ASKickers!

With the obvious abundance of new members, I thought it was time to ask a very old question.
How did you choose your user name?

I'll go first. At one time, a long time ago, we had 3 Cristina's/Christina's on the board. It got very confusing who was replying to the posts and everyone got us mixed up all the time. I didn't want people to think I was writing replies or posts that was really someone else's so I decided to tack on the "from California" to the end of my name since we all lived so far apart. It worked great. Now tell me your story. I see there are some very cool names out there!

Tick, you're it......
Cristina

Hi Cristina,

Here is my answer....

When I moved to Neenah, Wisconsin I got AOL for my internet service (back in 1997). I tried several user names with my name or nicknames or incorporating CPA since I had been a CPA... nothing available.

So what to choose.... Hmmmmm......

I had just moved to the upstairs unit of a duplex. The duplex was on an island where the Fox River empties from Lake Winnebago in Northeastern Wisconsin (river empties from two spots on the lake and converge about 4 miles upstream). Fairly large island, about 4-5 thousand people live on it.

The name of the island is Doty Island.... so I used Dotyisle as my AOL screen name since I could find no other. Used it here as well as my screen name.

That is my story.

Take care,

Tim

51 - my FD badge number and part of my county fire radio identification (5-22-51)

Cristina,

Like Tim, none of my nicknames or combination of real names were available eons ago on AOL. I have loved the moon as long as I can remember. My last name is Weatherbee and I have always called my kids the Wee Bees. So I combined moon and bees to get Moonbees.

Good one Tim! I was wondering what on earth yours meant!

Me, well. I love 70's Funk, and I play a bass guitar and love playing funk bass = Funkster

And the more obvious bit - I'm a bloke = Man

And there you have Funksterman.

Thanks for raising this one again Cristina - how are you anyway, I've not had many technical requests from you for a while???

Cheers
Jo
