Uploading pics

KA does not make a direct upload feature available, for site security reasons. Instead, you need to link to a picture that is already uploaded *somewhere* on the web. You can use any free image-hosting site, such as Photobucket.

Sizing

A profile Avatar pic size should be 65 ppi wide X 75 ppi tall to fit proportionally in the little space. Some image-hosting sites will allow you to re-size, but it is usually best to crop your picture first before uploading it, if possible.

For Signature pics, please limit the size to 250 ppi wide X 200 ppi tall, or 600 X 125, or < 35K. This helps to keep the forum pages loading quickly for everyone and prevents an annoying sideways scroll.

Linking

To enter your image info on KA, using the 'direct link' option provided.... Go to > My Stuff > Edit Profile > and paste the link
  • for avatars -- paste the link (the http:// path) into the URL to your Avatar box.
  • for signatures -- paste the link (surrounded by image tags) into the signature box
