I agree with everything you've said.
OK, many people 'seem' to tolerate starch well but the point I would make is that the 'modern' Western diet is too heavily dominated by grain based carbohydrates (mainly refined starches) and people as a result (whether they realize it or not) suffer higher incidences of avoidable diseases - such as obesity related dibetes, heart disease, and even many cancers.

NSD helps not only AS suffers but potentially the entire population. Of course 'normal' people can tolerate low levels of starches - but grains are addictive - and the mind is weak!
