I went to a friend's birthday party last night and got completely toasted. It was the drunkest I've been in many, many years. Before the party my AS was flaring big time. I had worked all yesterday afternoon and done some heavy lifting that I knew would put me in pain, but that had to be done. Anyway, it is really amazing how being drunk just completely removed the pain. I don't even hurt bad today anywhere... except my head, that is . I'm not sure if the reduction in pain was worth the spinning bed, the yacking, and of course the way my head feels today, but it is at least very interesting.

But Johnny,

Did you have fun....or do you remember if you had fun?

I got that way a couple of months ago. First time in about 10 years. Proberly be another 10 before I do it again, and I remember I had fun.....my oldest hasn't been out with me since, but hell if he cant keep up with mom, then that is his problem.....right?!

Next time have a couple of asprin before going to bed. Usally helps in the morning.

Quiet, gentle hugs on their way.

I've never been totally blasted, because I would NOT be a happy drunk, and yes, I know that for a fact, based on prior not-blasted experience . I get cranky and miserable if I drink outside home.......that's why I always keep some white zinfandel on hand!!!

Hope if you had a good time, that you remember what you did! And no vampire dress-up this time, RIGHT?

Johnny Hi!

Good on you. Sometimes I think we get so caught up in the pain-go-round that we forget that life is for living. It is probably not just the alcohol that removed the pain, but the good company, the laughing and muscle relaxing. All I can say is take a couple of aspirin for the headache, and do it again soon. The headache will go away.

Glad to hear you had a good time.

Cheers

Well good for you! Just drink lots of water and you will be fine.

It's possible that you still had the pain ..... but just didn't care! It's true that we tend to get a little caught up in more serious issues, and forget to have a good time.

I hope the party was great, and that you are recovering nicely!

Maxine

Hmmm, maybe you've found a new way of making this disease stop. A constant state of hangover to distract our immune systems away from our joints! yeah, yeah, that's the ticket.

Glad you had a good time, Johnny. Sorry 'bout your sick head, but there you are. Next time, added to the asprin suggested by Sassy, try drinking about a gallon of water before bed. And lots in the morning (instead of coffee), with a protein filled breakfast. Works every time!!

Hugs,

Kat

I did have a love affair with my water bubbler the morning after. I think I proberly drank close to half of the 5 gallon bottle of water

You are both right about the aspirin and water. I find that drinking tons of water really, really, helps when it is a beer drunk. Beer is very very dehydrating, thus the many trips to the john. Unfortunately, (or fortunately, as the case may be) this drunk was a combo... some beer, some gin, some scotch, and a little "hunch punch" thrown in just to make it all the more interesting. I think they used Bacardi 151 in the punch, but I'm really not sure. Anyway, I started drinking water immediately, but it tasted too much like the gin. Yack time, if you know what I mean.

It reminds me of this old country music song I remember from when I was a kid... I'm sure you two probably have never heard it, based on your locations, but it went like this...

"Could have been the whiskey,
Might have been the gin,
Could have been the three or four six-packs, I don't know,
But look at the mess I'm in.
My head's like a football.
I think I'm gonna die.
Tell me me-oh-me-oh-my,
Wasn't that a party."

The title was "Wasn't that a Party," and in this case... yes it was. I'm just now getting fully recovered.

Wow Johnny,

That sounds like quite the combination....... I can understand why it would take a few day to get over that!

Have you noticed, the older you get, the longer it takes to get rid of a hangover????

As far as country music.......I grew up with the Tammy Wynettes and the Pasty Clines.....got away from it for a good long time, but country is what I listen to again most of the time. Depends on the mood really.

Feel better friend....

Hugs
