Thanks Wanda,

The hospice workers have been a fantastic support for the family. Ken wanted to die at home and they have a response team that comes to your house within half an hour of your call and will do what they can to help.

Thanks again,
Jill

Thanks Sarah,

He was such an amazing man. So kind and thoughtful. He just had a presence about him that was totally welcoming.

I will really miss him.
Jill

Thanks Kat,

I just got off the phone with Jason, my ex, Ken passed away at about 2 am. It was really peaceful, his breathing slowed down and then eventually just stopped. I am really going to miss him in my life. And if I feel this way, I can only imagine how his family and Brittany feel. It's going to be a rough little while.

Thanks for your thoughts.
Jill

Jill, I'm so sorry to hear this. I know that in many ways it will be a relief to all that Ken is no longer in such pain and distress, but that doesn't make missing him any easier. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and I'm sending white light and love to you that this transition be as peaceful as possible for everyone.

Warm hugs,

Kat

Jill,

I am so sorry to hear about your father in law passing away. The relationship you and your daughter had with him sounded so precious. That love will always live on in your daughter.

Sending you many many hugs
Pam

Hi Jill, my thoughts go out to Ken and your family, and extended family, this is so hard to deal with and such a shock, but I hope that whatever happens it will make everyone stronger. Hold on and hug everyone, and keep us posted, you have lots of people listening here at KA...
Peace

Hi Jill,

So sorry to hear your news. At least it was a peaceful ending, which is a blessing. If there is anything I can do Jill, let me know. I will say a prayer for you and your family tonight.

Debbie

Hi Pam

It is so nice to see you here again. Have really missed your posts.

I was saying to Brittany last night that one nice thing was that "Pa", what she has called him since she could talk, would always be near her. Because he was in her heart and her soul. She seemed to take some comfort in that.

Thanks for the hugs,
Jill

Thanks Linc,

Your post really touched me. Watching Ali, Ken's wife, go through this this last 9 months has really made me appreciate my husband that much more. When I talked to Ali yesterday she said that once Ken's breathing stopped she was finally able to fall asleep for the night and it was the most restful sleep she has had in the last 2 months.

Thanks Linc, it is a total comfort to know that everyone here is here to support me when I need it.

Jill

Thanks Debbie,

The funeral service is going to be in Vernon on Sunday so at least we won't have to drive too far. I think the week of spring break they are doing another service in Victoria where Ken and Ali spent the last 12 years living. I think that one though is mainly friends and co-workers etc. I'm not sure if we will go down for that one.

Brittany has been a total trooper through all of this. She stayed home from school yesterday but went today. She seems to be better when she sticks to normal routine.

Anyways, thanks again. Maybe now that the weather is starting to get nicer we can get together and take the girls to the park or something.

Jill
